The face behind the business

Hey there! This is me, Holly, the face behind Makeup by Holly Mae. I am a professional freelance makeup artist based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. I began my makeup career in 2016 after realising this was where my passion truly lies. Since then, I have been travelling up and down the country, working at weddings, photoshoots and with well-known faces/brands in the industry such as Gok Wan, Drop Dead Clothing and Helen E Cosmetics.

To me, makeup is more than just colours and pretty blending; it’s a chance for you to step out of your everyday life and into something wonderful. I also believe in enhancing natural beauty as oppose to covering it up. It has always been extremely important to me that every single person that sits in my makeup chair feels the most beautiful they

have ever felt. All ages, genders, ethnicities, skin types and skin tones are welcome, and I promise I will do everything in my power to make your appointment with me an amazing experience. My Makeup Kit

In every makeup artists kit, you will find their favourite, top preforming products that they secretly adore and know are the best on the market. Personally, I like to use a wide range of top of the line products from brands such as; Nars, Mac, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Too Faced, Laura Mercier, Benefit and many more!

Great lighting is also extremely important to have as a professional makeup artist when working on clients. For every appointment, I always make sure to bring my Newer 18-inch ring light so I am able to create my best work in the best lighting conditions possible. This ring light paired with a good camera enables me to take high quality images of the makeup, which is especially important for bridal trials as a high quality picture of the makeup is needed in order to replicate the look perfectly on the wedding day.
